Why do I need to verify a phone number to message someone?
Because it is what keeps this place free. Other sites charge for messaging to keep out spam; we ask for a phone number instead, which costs an honest person a minute and costs a scammer far more. Replying to someone is always free and never needs it.
Why can I only send one message until they reply?
A first message from a stranger is a request. Once they reply, the thread opens and you can talk normally. It means nobody opens their inbox to twenty messages from one person.
Why is the map pin not the real address?
Listings show an approximate area, offset on purpose. The exact address is stored separately, is never public, and is the lister’s to share inside a conversation when they are ready.
How do I stop showing up in search?
In what you want, turn off “Show me in search”. Your profile and your conversations stay; you just stop appearing to people browsing.
Someone is behaving badly. What do I do?
Use Report on their profile, their listing, or the conversation. You can also block them from any thread. Blocking is mutual and immediate. Scam reports are triaged within four hours.
How do I delete my account, or get a copy of my data?
Both are in your account settings. Deleting removes your name, photo, bio, quiz answers and saved items immediately, takes down your listings and posts, and purges the account entirely after thirty days.
Messages you sent stay in the conversation under “Deleted user”. They are half of somebody else’s thread, and removing them would destroy that person’s record of an arrangement they may still be living inside.
